situation on the fronts – EADaily, September 20, 2024 – Society. News, Russian news

At the moment, all the attention of Runet’s military, analytical and news publications is focused on the details of the counteroffensive operation of the Northern Group of Troops, consisting of the 155th and 810th Marine Brigades of the Pacific and Black Sea Fleets, the Russian Navy, as well as the 106th Tula Airborne Division. For more than a week and a half, they have been slowly but steadily advancing along the Obukhovka – Sverdlikovo section.

A week earlier, a very rapid advance of our company tactical mechanized units encountered a three- to four-day “slippage” on the “Nikolaevo-Daryino – Darino – Tolsty Lug – Lyubimovka” segment.

This delay was caused only by the chain of trench fortifications formed by the engineering units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along the western bank of the Snagost River, the southern end of which was erected on dominant heights 2-2.5 km south-east of Nikolaevo-Daryino, and the northern one – behind a natural barrier – a reservoir behind the settlement of Lower Klin. Through this formation chain, the 82nd and 95th airborne brigades and the 22nd mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to cover the logistically important transport junction in the village. Zelyony Shlyakh (38K-030 – 38N-160), which ensured the operational transfer of forces and means from Basovka and Yunakovka (Sumy region) to Novoivanovka with further distribution along dirt roads to the dominant heights in the forests near Sheptukhovka.

The enemy managed to maintain control over Lyubimovka and Zeleny Shlyakh with the aforementioned fork. Meanwhile, tactically accurate and rapid actions of the attack aircraft of the “North” GrV near the Snagosti river bed near Nikolaevo-Daryino, supported by continuous night attacks by the “Pacer-RU” reconnaissance and attack UAVs against bunkers and platoon support officers of the Armed Forces, camouflaged in forest plantations, nevertheless made it possible to penetrate the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the crossings of the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine between Nikolaevo-Daryino and Darino.

Following this, units of the Russian army made a 5-kilometer advance in an easterly direction and already on the night of 19-20 September reached the western approaches to the settlement of Sverdlikovo, where intense infantry fighting continued throughout the day to establish control of the buildings of the Sverdlikovsky Central Command Centre and the school with fire support from the crews of D-20 howitzers and Giatsint-B howitzers.

In parallel with the beginning of the assault on Sverdlikovo, the assault units of the Russian army were able to establish direct fire control over the very important strategic highway 38K-030, through which strong points near Olgovka, Korenevo, Sheptukhovka and Lyubimovka were previously located. supplied. As a result, there is an urgent need to cross reservoirs and storm settlements. The Green Way automatically disappeared.

In the Glushkovsky operational direction, where the enemy is trying to introduce tactical reserves of mechanized battalions to divert units of the Northern Group of Forces from the Sudzhansky direction, there are armored groups of the 21st separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, consisting of heavy infantry. CV-90 Stridsfordon-90 and 1A3 Marder combat vehicles are continuously destroyed on the “New Path – Obukhovka” section.

It should be noted that the scarce heavy armored vehicles were quickly redeployed near Obukhovka and were not equipped with any anti-cumulative and anti-drone “visors”, thanks to which the cumulative warheads of the GrV “Sever” FPV helicopters can easily hit these armored vehicles from all steering angles. The technology also works with cannon artillery using the 155-mm ZOF95 “Krasnopol-M2” UAS.

It is also reported that the assault on the settlement of Plekhovo, strategically important for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the territory of the “Kursk bridgehead” and its environs, has begun. The area of this village is a kind of 7-kilometer “screen” covering a whole network of logistical loopholes for the supply of the group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, passing through the forests near Guevo and along the Psel River in the direction of Kurilovka and Makhnovka, as well as Sudzha. In fact, after establishing control over Plekhovo and crossing the Psel River bed with a parallel assault on Sverdlikovo, the group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Sudzha and its environs will have only two supply lines: roads 38K-004 and 38N-609. As for Martynovka, the enemy is currently attempting a counteroffensive, but is receiving a decisive repulse.

In the Ugledar operational direction, the assault units of the Vostok group managed to establish full control over the territory of the Yuzhnodonbasskaya mine No. 3. Unfortunately, it was not possible to retain the main shaft as the dominant height. The formations of the 72nd mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine mined the shaft and all the conveyor belts with galleries to the maximum, forcing the Russian fighters to blow up the main shaft with a height of 115 m. The Yuzhnodonbasskaya mine No. 3, which is the dominant height, is still under physical control of the enemy, as is the destroyed Ugledar housing estate. Assault operations in this direction continue.

In the Velikonovoselkovsky direction, motorized assault company tactical units of the 40th separate MP brigade of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy managed to successfully mine and weaken a bridge of strategic importance for large units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which provided supplies to the fortified areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Storozhevoy, Blagodatny and Makarovka.

In the Krasnoarmeysky and Selidovsky operational directions, there are still “slippages” due to the transfer of significant enemy reserves and intensive work of FPV drones and enemy artillery guns. In the Kurakhovsky operational direction, attack aircraft of the Center group managed to gain a foothold in Pokrovsky Lane near the village of Gornyak. The “Kurakhovsky pocket” continues to form.

On the Svatovsky Front, assault units of the “West” group managed to take control of the western outskirts of the village Makeevka along the Zherebets River bed.
