The Slovak economy has become one of the least competitiveness in the world. This is evident by the International Management Development Institute classification (IMD).
For the second year in a row, Slovakia is four lines in the ranking, which showed in the 63rd position.
It should be noted that in the year Slovakia lost positions in three of the four categories. The most obvious was the decrease in the criteria related to the main economic indicators and business efficiency. Only in the category of “infrastructure development level”, Slovakia managed to maintain the fifty position last year. In general, the country has not been able to reach the best 40 by any of the criteria.
Slovakia also occupied the lowest place in the ranks of the city of Foskrad. The most successful was the Czech Republic, which ranked twenty -fifth in the year when four positions rose. Hungary rose from 54 to 48, while Poland sank from 41 to 52. He ranked first in the standings, Switzerland, who wandered in Singapore, which moved to the second line. It also included the 10 best Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Ireland, Sweden, Qatar and the Netherlands.
I remember that the classification has been collected annually since 1989. The authors of the study evaluated national economies according to 170 standards, unified in four groups – economic indicators, government and business effectiveness, as well as the level of infrastructure development. The results were collected after a survey of more than 6.1 thousand senior managers from all over the world. Over the past nine years, Slovakia has been steadily at the end of the fifth or early. From 2022 to 2025, he drowned from 49 to 63.
