American Airlines stated that the exam conducted by the maintenance team did not find evidence that the engine had caught fire.
“The plane went to the gate with his own energy, and the clients, as usual, left the plane,” the airline said. “We value the professionalism of our team and thank our teams that work hard to deliver our customers as quickly as possible.”
American Airlines reported that 153 passengers and six teams were on the plane when the incident occurred. The aircraft, Airbus A321, is fired from the evaluated services.
FAA is investigating the incident, the agency said.
