A memorandum of understanding was signed between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and ESM Joint Stock Company to expand cooperation in the field of energy in Skopje, North Macedonia.
Oku.Az According to SOCAR, this document provides for long-term cooperation between the parties to strengthen North Macedonia’s energy security and diversify natural gas sources.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the parties will take into account the possibilities of further expansion of cooperation in the supply of Azerbaijani natural gas delivered to North Macedonia with the start of the 2024 winter season and the examination of other projects related to the energy.
It should be noted that North Macedonia, along with Turkey, Georgia, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia, was the eleventh country to receive Azerbaijani gas.
