SOCAR signed an agreement with the American company

An agreement on the provision of technical services was signed between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the American company Halliburton.

Oku.Az According to SOCAR, the agreement was signed by Ali Gurbanov, General Director of SOCAR’s Azneft Production Union, and Graeme Taylor, Vice President for the Caspian Region of Halliburton.

The aim of the document is to conduct modern studies to reassess the residual hydrocarbon potential and specify the residual oil zones in the “Guneshli” field located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.

It should be noted that the Guneshli field is located 120 km east of Baku, 12 km south-east of the Neft Dashlari field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The Sunny fold is included in the Chilov-Neft Daslari anticlinal fold belt. The sea level at the bed varies between 80 and 300 meters. The bed is 12.5 km long and 4.0 km wide.

Currently, 370 wells have been drilled in the “Guneshli” field, of which 279 are in operation. Since the beginning of development, 201.3 million tons of oil (including condensate), 127 billion m3More than gas was produced.

It should be noted that the peak production at the Guneshli field occurred in 1991. That year, 6.7 million tons of oil were produced from 114 operating wells. The peak gas production in 2008 was 6.6 billion cubic meters.3 The field is currently in the third stage of development. The field is operated by the 28 May Oil and Gas Extraction Department of the Azneft Production Union of SOCAR.
