Social Security launches new website to make it easier to apply for pensions and other benefits

Social Security has launched a new website that integrates all electronic channels of access to procedures, information and services relating to pensions and benefits, the ministry headed by Elma Saiz explained on Wednesday.

Citizens can request benefits on this site, access retirement and minimum subsistence income (IMV) simulators, check the status of their request, manage their appointments, communicate or modify their personal data, among other things, “from quick and intuitive way. » indicates the ministry.

The Secretary of State for Social Security and Pensions, Borja Suárez, stressed that this initiative “is another step in the strategy aimed at putting the citizen at the center, bringing our services closer, making them more accessible and more easy, both in terms of locating them and using them.

“The language we speak in this new portal is that of citizens and not that of the Administration. A paradigm shift that we have already seen is yielding very good results. The new Importass application, which we presented a few weeks ago, has already accumulated more than 230,000 downloads,” said Suárez.

The Secretary of State added that “many citizens prefer to use electronic services when they are easy to use and additionally allow an increase in the quality of care through traditional channels for those who, for whatever reason , cannot use them. digital procedures.

The Ombudsman, unions and social groups demanded that Social Security guarantee in-person assistance in its offices to citizens who prefer this form of assistance and, above all, to all those for whom it is the only possibility of access this public service, due to the lack of technological equipment or knowledge to process benefits through online.

New portal services

According to the ministry, the new portal offers a search engine for services and procedures, as well as direct access to the most consulted and requested ones, “organized in a very visual way, with a clear structure and direct language.” In addition, it is designed to adapt to the device from which it is accessed, whether from a computer or a mobile device.

Social Security has highlighted that navigation in these services is simpler and more intuitive, guiding the user through a question and answer system that accompanies them to the appropriate electronic service.

Another important new feature, explains the ministry, is that this new interface makes it possible to save the results of queries carried out and to retain the information obtained to facilitate future access to the website.

To improve the citizen experience, informative content and guides are offered to help users better understand the different types of services and the conditions for accessing them, such as the following video.
