Socuéllamos, next stage of the Regional League of Wine Tasters of Castile-La Mancha

Next Saturday, November 16, is the ideal day to enjoy a day dedicated to La Mancha wine at the Socuéllamos Wine Tower Museum, where a new event of the I Regional League of Wine Tasters of Castile-La Mancha.

The competition will bring together 40 participants from across the region, not just professionals, who will test their knowledge, sensory skills and wine tasting skills.

This I Regional League is an idea of ​​the Association of Tasters of Castile-La Mancha. The next event will take place on Saturday, November 23 in Villarrubia de los Ojos and then, on Sunday, December 1, the final will be scheduled in a municipality in the province of Ciudad Real yet to be determined.

In the case of the Socuéllamos competition, help organize it Wine-Vinos Malaño Inn, in addition to the town hall and the Torre del Vino museum.

“This initiative not only promotes wine culture, but also promotes the excellence of professionals in the sector and the dissemination of the quality of La Mancha wines,” they indicate in a press release. After the competition and without interruption, another event will take place in the museum courtyard, ‘AubergeWine Rama‘, linked to the tasting of raw wines and previous vintages from different wineries in the region.

Wineries with extensive experience and significant weight in the Castile-La Mancha and Spanish wine sectors will participate. One of them will be the local Auberge Wine Wineries and Vineyardsrecognized for its “Malaño” wines, organic, minimally intervened, complex and high quality. Those of the Airén grape variety, made by the young winemaker Jesús Malaño, have obtained high marks in the prestigious Peñín Guide. So much so that their “Airén Asoleado” is the first Airén wine in its 34-year history to achieve 94 Peñín points.

It will also be Ibañesas Export Cellars, by Casas Ibañezrecognized worldwide for its quality bottled and bulk wines, a fundamental pillar of the Castile-La Mancha sector, being one of the main exporters in Spain. AND Bodegas Cautela, Socuellamosa consolidated family winery known for its still and sparkling quality bottlings.

From the Inn Wine-Vinos Malaño they highlight the relevance of this competition as “a tool to strengthen the wine identity of Castilla-La Mancha, the promotion of its wines and the generation of wine culture”.

Meanwhile, the Councilor for Tourism of Socuéllamos, Alba López, underlines “the municipality’s commitment to the wine sector and support for events of this type which highlight the wine tradition and talent of the region”.
