In a restaurant in Paris, the hostages who were held by the son of the establishment’s owners were released. He uses drugs and has made several suicide attempts, French media write.
The armed, suicidal drug addict who held workers at his parents’ pizzeria hostage for three hours has been arrested and his hostages freed. – reports Le Figaro.
A source told the publication that a man between 35 and 40 years old locked himself in his parents’ restaurant. There were no customers in the pizzeria. Special police forces and a negotiator hired due to the kidnapper’s desire to commit suicide arrived at the scene, in the Issy-les-Moulineaux area.
According to AFP journalists who were at the scene, the iron curtain of the pizzeria, with its bright red façade, was down. And several nearby restaurants in the area also closed.
“I see him every night in passing, he is not feeling well. “I think he has a drug problem.” said Anthony, a 23-year-old student.
“The pizzeria has a good reputation, except for this guy. He already lost his temper a few years ago, it’s sad,” pensioner Monique Teixe told Le Figaro.
