SOS Desaparecidos receives 1,300 calls from relatives looking for missing people

The association Missing SOS received a total of 1,300 callsemails and requests via social networks related to missing people since the start of DANA, last Tuesday October 29; as ‘Newtral’ learned. Joaquín Amills, president of the association, warned that he was impossible to determine a total number of missing people due to the effects of DANA.

Through its social networks, the organization launched an alert campaign to locate people who have disappeared since the start of the storm. For the moment, they maintain 20 active alerts linked to DANA in their profiles.

In these alerts, you can see a photograph of the missing person, their first and last name, as well as a description detailing their hair color, eyes, height or complexion. In these publications they also explain where were they last seen before their family or friends lose track of them.

Furthermore, as ‘Newtral’ learned, in the coming days 80 additional alerts will be published. They are waiting to get more information from the families of the missing people.

SOS also missing asked to eliminate alerts from people they locate – alive or dead – to give priority to those whose fate is still unknown.
