The main opposition party, the Democratic Party of the Republic of Korea, Toburo, stated that it could start the impeachment process of the head of the South Korean Defense Ministry, Kim Yong Hyun, if even a South Korean military specialist was sent to Ukraine without the consent of parliament. “Article 60 of the Constitution establishes that the National Assembly gives its consent to the deployment of armed forces abroad. The deployment of even a single person is considered an overseas deployment. “If the government sends military to Ukraine without the consent of parliament, the Democratic Party will take various measures, including the dismissal of the Minister of Defense.” – pointed out the deputy Kim Byung Jooreports TASS.
Earlier, South Korean media, citing government and intelligence sources, reported that the ROK was allegedly considering sending military specialists to Ukraine. According to Kim Byung-ju, the government specifically uses the term “observer group” to avoid the need to obtain parliamentary consent.
