South Ossetia does not expect a reduction in payments from Russia

No negative changes are expected in the issue of social assistance in South Ossetia, said State Adviser to the President of the Republic Vyacheslav Gobozov.

Commenting on Russia’s suspension of payments to Abkhaz state employees, Gobozov noted that social payments to South Ossetian state employees are carried out within the framework of agreements that were concluded in the development of the Treaty of Alliance and Integration between South Ossetia and Russia.

“Each department signs a corresponding agreement with its Russian counterparts and these payments are made. In addition, new agreements are being developed. I do not think that there are any preconditions for negative trends in this process today.” – Gobozov was quoted by the Res news agency as saying.

EADaily The Russian government announced that it had suspended aid to Abkhazia due to the failure to comply with several points of the agreements between Moscow and Sukhum. The Abkhaz government said that payments to state employees would come from the republic’s own budget.
