“SpaceX” has informed the US Federal Communications Commission about its plans to increase the speed of the “Starlink” satellite Internet system several times.

According to the information, the launch capacity of “Gen2” generation satellites will increase from approximately 100 megabits per second to 1 gigabit. It should be noted that for this the “Gen2” devices will be placed at an altitude of 480, 485 and 475 km instead of 525, 530 and 535 km, as in the case of the “Gen1” generation satellites.
According to the head of “SpaceX”, Elon Musk, the “Gen2” satellites are so large that their mass launch is only possible with the “Starship” multipurpose transport system.
