Spain and UK resume talks to reach new Gibraltar deal

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jose Manuel Albaresmet his British counterpart on Monday, David Lamyduring a meeting that aimed to move forward an agreement on Gibraltar.

Sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs consulted by LaSexta confirm to LaSexta that, among the topics discussed, the agreement with Gibraltar was discussed, as well as “bilateral issues which affect citizens of both countries, as well as the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East.

“According to the Executive Vice President, Maros Sefcović“Negotiations between Spain and the European Commission with the United Kingdom on Gibraltar will resume at ministerial level next Thursday in Brussels,” they added.

“Today we will discuss the future agreement on Gibraltar to ensure that We are creating this common prosperity between Gibraltar and these 300,000 Andalusians who are linked every day” to the Rock, Albares told reporters at the start of the meeting.
