September is a month of job creation and this was recorded in Social Security affiliation data, although this month the surge was very slight. After the increase in September, driven mainly by the service sector due to the end of the tourist season, the total number of unemployed stood at 2,575,285 unemployed, the lowest figure for the month of September since 2007, underlined the ministry.
For its part, Social Security gained on average 8,805 contributors in September compared to the previous month (+0.04%) due, above all, to the increase in employment in education of nearly 50,000 people due to of the start of the school year and despite the drop in employment in commerce and hospitality, which had 41,000 and 30,000 fewer members than in August due to the end of the tourist season, according to data published this Wednesday by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
