PP leader assures that “we cannot tolerate anyone being forced into a Spanish embassy”
The president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has demanded the resignation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, for having “lied” and allowed the Spanish embassy in Caracas to be “at the service of a dictatorial regime.” After Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González yesterday denounced the “coercion” exercised by Chavismo at the official residence of the Spanish ambassador, Jorge Rodríguez, to accept the victory of Nicolas Maduro and renounce his political activities in Spain.
The PP leader went to Rome on Thursday to meet with the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and learn about her measures against the migration crisis, although it was the diplomatic crisis with Venezuela that focused Feijóo’s intervention, with a direct message to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez: “If he is with democracy, I will be with him; “If he is with dictatorship, he will have me before him.”
