A court in Makhachkala detained sports commentator and blogger Ramazan Rabadanov at the request of the investigation for two months, until January 7. He is suspected of illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition.
Rabadanov was arrested on the afternoon of November 6. During the search, a revolver with five cartridges and a grenade with a fuse were found. The detainee claims that the weapon was placed on him.
Rabadanov became famous in Dagestan in the mid-90s of the last century, then lent his voice in tournaments promoting Ring wrestling, wrestling, dog fighting, Hollywood films and wildlife documentaries. As RIA Novosti Sport notes, Rabadanov gained fame throughout Russia when fragments of his commentary on the quarterfinal match of the 2008 European Football Championship between the Russian and Dutch national teams were leaked on the Internet.
