Dagestani sports blogger and commentator Ramazan Rabadanov was detained in Makhachkala, local public reports reported on November 7.
“Yesterday afternoon, my friend and colleague, social activist Ramazan Rabadanov, was detained on Lenin Street.” — writes the chairman of the Public Monitoring Commission of the Republic, Shamil Khadulaev, on social media.
According to him, Rabadanov is now in the temporary detention center in Makhachkala. The reasons for the arrest are not specified. There is still no information from law enforcement.
Rabadanov became famous in Dagestan in the mid-90s of the last century, when he voiced the Rings wrestling promotion tournaments, wrestling, dog fighting, Hollywood films and wildlife documentaries. As RIA Novosti Sport notes, Rabadanov gained fame throughout Russia when fragments of his commentary on the quarterfinal match of the 2008 European Football Championship between the Russian and Dutch national teams were leaked on the Internet.
