The return of the embroidery workshop of the Perdón brotherhood is already a fact, with the information meeting and a good number of students enrolled. The Cordovan embroiderer Jose Luis Guerra He is again in charge of teaching the classes, which have borne many good professional fruits for the brotherhoods.
Some students were able to take on their own commissionsafter absorbing the knowledge of all the variety of stitches and techniques, as José Luis Guerra explained to ABC. “Many of them are already working on projects, the training has opened doors of work for them. “They have advanced and they are here.”
The 2023-2024 embroidery course brought together around twenty interested people, of both sexes and different ages, who explored this art in more depth, using different techniques.
The first contact with this new company took place last week and the courses will begin in October. Those who participated last year and continue this year are about fourteen years old, they are qualified to undertake an important activity project for the Brotherhood of Forgiveness which will soon be decided and which they will assume during the current course.
The veterans They will carry out embroidery work on gold coins, embroidery on silk, restoration, and initially the pace of work they need will be adapted, while new members will receive training from scratch and will deepen the different embroidery stitches, according to sources from the brotherhood consulted by ABC.
They will work on Monday afternoon from October 7th at the Carmen Márquez Criado Parish Center, of Trinidad.
