Eighteen days have passed since October 29. Since Valencia sank into the water. Since thousands of people have lost everything. Since this DANA, since these torrential rains which caused floods and which, so far, have caused 217 deaths in the Levante province. Despite these three weeks, the situation in many streets of several Valencian towns remains crisis.
The mud is still in the streets, unsanitary conditions are increasingly worrying. Garages are still flooded while neighbors march to Catarroja town hall so work can begin.
In Massanassa, the same. Same because they want their garages emptied. Because they live next to the open field where the rest of the city’s vehicles are parked while the others are still there. The cry of the march: “we are abandoned”.
They complain fecal water that continues to fall. Let them bring everyone’s stuff, but don’t pay attention to it. What do they need? machines for “meter and a half of mud” who is still on its streets. “They told us we couldn’t enter because it was unsanitary and now they are asking us to clean it ourselves,” say the residents of Massanassa.
