The current situation of the students who were allegedly poisoned during anti-lice treatment at Sumgayit City Secondary School No. 14 has been announced.
In response to a query from Bizim.media, the Union of Territorial Medical Units (TABIB) stated that two minors were diagnosed with poisoning by unspecified substances:
“On September 23, 2024, two minors (females) born in 2013 were brought by their relatives to the Children’s Hospital of Sumgayit Medical Center at around 3:30 p.m.
Minors diagnosed with poisoning by unspecified substances received appropriate medical assistance in the emergency department and were then evacuated to the Clinical Medical Center (KTM) in order to provide them with qualified medical assistance.
It was noted that the minors were released from the institution:
“Both minors who were evacuated to KTM received the necessary medical services. Both minors, whose condition returned to normal, were discharged that same day to receive outpatient treatment.”
“The city of Sumgayit completely destroyed the 14th secondary school. For this reason, fumigation was carried out at the school. Most of the children were poisoned after the fumigation.”
Bakupost.az was informed about this by parents whose children study at the school.
A father whose son was poisoned at school said:
“My daughter was unable to attend the last lesson, her condition has worsened. Of course, the children’s condition is getting worse. They stay there for 6-7 hours. My daughter’s health has not improved yet, she is suffocating and cannot breathe properly.”
Parents complain about an issue.
The school’s director, Fatma Bayramova, has been hiding the situation for more than a week, they say.
