He said that every RT leader should be the first line for forming a Waste Care Team and the team will be coordinated with the Bengkulu City (DLH) environmental service related to environmental waste management in persistent actions.

For this reason, he said, the group that had formed would not only do the OTT trash, but will also provide education and socialization to all residents regularly so that more people in Bengkulu are not formed.

“The government has prepared facilities, but if the community is unconscious or interested in the environment, of course this is still our obstacle. Therefore, these waste must be our common responsibility,” he said.

Earlier, the government of the city of Bengkulu has prepared a revision of the regional regulation (Perda) related to waste management, with the regulation of the falling community could be imposed a fine of RP. 5 million.

For this reason, Mayor Bengkulu Deddy Wahyudi invites the entire community to protect the environment and can register with waste management through the LPM Empowerment Institute (LPM).

“If residents are indeed unable to pay monthly LPM fees, the government will help the community subsidy system,” he said.

According to him, if the community is registered with waste management via LPM in Kelurahan, residents can pay RP 20,000 to RP 30,000 a month and the waste will be managed properly until it is unloaded in the Sebakul Air (TPA) final.

In addition, the Bengkulu government also turned to the entire community to process waste, meditating between types of organizational and inorganic waste. This was done to support the government to accelerate the handling and processing of waste in Bengkulu.
