The former Andalusian president and former secretary general of the PSOE-A participated in the Federal Congress invited by the leadership like all former presidents and in response to what she described as “a very delicate and difficult moment” for the socialists, especially because of the DANA of Valencia, the judicial investigations opened or the resignation of Juan Lobato.
Susana Díaz was initially an opponent of Pedro Sánchez, who this weekend revalidates his position as secretary general of the PSOE. And after Juan Espadas, the president of the Congress held in Seville, with whom he faced in the 2021 primaries.
For the first, for Pedro Sánchez, there was no questioning, beyond the differences already expressed several times on issues such as regional financing. Susana Díaz clung to a maxim of all major parties: “When a secretary general is president, leadership is not questioned.”
But for regional leaders, the message was stronger: “I call for the creation of a livable and breathing PSOE-A. It is respectful of all sensitivities and it takes advantage of all talents because if part of the talent is wasted, it is difficult to defeat the PP. “You have to count on everyone.”
In this sense, although he declared that he had “already gone beyond the Andalusian screen” and found himself “sucking the bench”, he referred to the situation of the critical voices of the PSOE-A, among which part of his surroundings. : “It can’t be that every time he speaks, a blanket of sticks falls on him.”
