The state prosecutor did not initially provide any additional information. The SPD faction said that the prosecutor’s investigation was supported. The manuals paid by 2021 for the deputy leader of the parliamentary group for the amount of 750 euros per month were canceled. AFD rejected the accusation of infidelity. The HDS did not comment at first.
Earlier there was a criticism of the parliamentary group of taxpayers of the CDU. There, as they say, benefits in the amount of 113,250 euros were paid for special functions, although in accordance with the parliamentary reform, this was unacceptable since 2020.
The parliamentary reform regulates, among other things, that allocations can be paid only when they are published: the leaders of the parliamentary group and managing directors, as well as vice presidents of state parliament. The CDU, SPD and AFD factions probably did not adhere to this rule. The left fraction, on the other hand, did not pay any benefits before the reform.
Suspicion against the State Secretary
According to the federal government of taxpayers, the accounting of the Parliamentary Group of the CDS for 2021 pays payments for “services to members of the parliamentary group for the perception of special functions in the parliamentary group” in the amount of 66,000 euros. In 2022, the information is about 47,250 euros.
In addition, in accounting in 2021, additional payments were also shown for the AFD parliamentary group (25,619.76 euros) and for the SPD parliamentary group (7500 euros). “All other factions did not show any additional payments for functional benefits for both 2021 and 2022.”
The leader of the left group, Eva Van Angern, said that the basin, which they want to wait for the investigation. “What he occupies now is the greatest transparency to clarify the accusations as early as possible.” Until then, the presumption of innocence should be applied. Green in the state parliament criticized the manuals of other fractions. Olaf Meister, the managing director of the parliamentary group, said that payments are a “obvious violation of the applicable law”. Anyone who damages confidence in political institutions is a shame for the entire parliament.
It is also believed that the State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Steffen Ecold, was the managing director of the CDS parliamentary group in the state parliament until 2022. Obviously, Ecold knew from allegedly unacceptable permissions to the members of his group at that time. At the request of the Taza at the Ministry of Justice, Ecold did not comment. The representative referred to the responsible prosecutor. (with DPA)
