Suede consider paying 350,000 Swedish kronor (approx. 30,800 euros) to immigrants who voluntarily leave the country. This was announced by Immigration Minister Johan Forssell during an appearance alongside representatives of the other coalition parties: the Moderates, Christian Democrats and Liberals, as well as the far-right Sweden Democrats.
In the hereImmigrants who voluntarily return to their country from Sweden are entitled to a payment of 10,000 Swedish kronor (880 euros) per adult and half that amount per child, but according to Forssell, virtually no one takes advantage of this opportunity.
“They may feel that life in Sweden has not gone the way they wanted, that they are stuck, or that they are older and want return to the country they came from “originally,” Forssell said of the plan’s beneficiaries.
The government led by Ulf Kristersson has no specific target figures for the number of migrants who could leave Sweden based on this measure, who are expected to enter in force from 2026.
That year’s budgets will allocate 1.4 billion Swedish crowns to this plan (equivalent to 122 million euros), which would imply that 4,000 people can receive the amount maximum stipulated.
To be eligible for the aid, currently estimated at 10,000 crowns, migrants must be legally in Sweden and have a valid residence permit, whether for professional, family or international protection reasons.
