Ingredients
To prepare approximately 12 donuts, you will need the following ingredients:
For the donut dough:
For the chocolate coating:
- 100 g dark chocolate (you can adjust the quantity according to your taste)
- 1/4 cup grated coconut (to garnish)
Preparing the donuts
- Start by preheating your oven at 180°C. This will ensure that the donuts cook evenly and get that perfect golden brown that we love so much.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Use a sieve if you want the mixture to be lighter and more airy.. This will help make the donuts softer.
- In another bowl, beat the egg then add the milk, coconut oil (which should be melted) and vanilla extract. Mix well until all ingredients are integrated.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredient mixture and mix gently with a spatula. Be sure not to overmix; simply mix until there are no large lumps. At this point add the grated coconut, which will give the fritters a delicious flavor.
- Lightly grease the donut mold with a little oil or use non-stick spray. Using a piping bag or a spoon, fill each mold cavity about 2/3 full. This is important to prevent them from boiling over during cooking.
- Place the mold in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a donut comes out clean. It is important not to overcook so that the donuts do not become dry.
- Once cooked, Remove the dish from the oven and let the donuts cool. in the mold for about 5 minutes. Then, carefully unmold them and let them cool completely on a rack.
Preparing the chocolate topping
While the donuts are cooling, you can prepare the chocolate coating.
- Place the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. and heat in 30 second intervals, stirring between each, until completely melted and smooth. You can also melt the chocolate in a bain-marie if you prefer a more traditional method.
- Once the donuts have cooled, Dip the top of each donut into the melted chocolate.. Let the excess chocolate drip off and place the donuts on a rack to allow the chocolate to harden.
