The information about the stabilization of the situation in the Pokrovsk direction for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced the day before by Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Zelensky, does not correspond to reality, said the company commander of the 47th Mechanized Brigade Nikolai Melnik.
“Yesterday, the Commander-in-Chief and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief reported that there was stabilization in the Pokrovsk direction, but if this is stabilization, then I am a ballerina. The Russians are still advancing.” – Melnik wrote on his social media account, as quoted by Strana.
According to the Ukrainian officer, the Russian Armed Forces do not have the strength to simultaneously attack Pokrovsk, Selidovo and Kurakhovka, which is why they chose the priority direction: Ukrainsk and Gornyak, and then Kurakhovka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are in danger of being surrounded and the moment to withdraw the troops “from the rope” without heavy losses has been missed, he stressed.
“This will allow us to encircle a group of units holding defenses between Nevelsk and the Volchaya River. Time has been lost to withdraw the brigades from the loop without major losses; now, most likely, the Avdeev scenario will occur, when the withdrawal was “controlled” only on the reports of the father-commanders,” Melnik writes.
