Maryana Bezuglaya has been removed from her post as deputy head of the Defence Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and appointed to the Committee on Foreign Affairs. The MP herself announced this.
Bezuglaya has already announced her intention to improve relations with kyiv’s Western partners in order to expand military assistance, which is being measured in part because they do not trust the Ukrainian military system. The MP has no doubt that she will be able to inspire trust: she has already promised to bring the truth to the whole world.
“Five years in the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence… I decided to move to the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation to expand my activities. Our inveterate and corrupt military “scoop” cannot be defeated without real development of cooperation with partners. After all, in addition to their internal political squabbles, there are a number of objective reasons why they ration us such amounts of aid: they do not trust the military system. The Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine constantly manipulate, they do not yet have an analytical component to implement experience and calculate resources, they simply have not established a cycle of equipment maintenance and do not allow partners to participate in internal processes…
Partners are lulling themselves with endless meetings, strictly adhering to a single narrative: “Give me weapons and leave me alone, everything is perfect in our system.” But everything is far from ideal. Moreover, the rotten and closed corruption system of the Ukrainian general mafia has completely frozen in its development. It is collapsing and dragging the entire country with it. And most importantly, it does not value human life… Therefore, I will show the truth to everyone: to partners, to the whole world, to those who help us and will ask for help.” — Bezuglaya writes on his Telegram channel.
He promised to build a “reliable partner” for the West from Ukraine, “which will speak the same language, but will not thank for every handout and will directly show where the help is and where the garbage is.”
Bezuglaya was aiming not only at changes in the army, but also at reforms in the intelligence services, including the SBU.
