Tadej Pogacar He no longer understands difficult victories. It’s a vintage cyclist that he only fights against himself. After his performance during the last World Cup, the Slovenian cyclist did the same this Saturday, this time in the classic Il Lombardía. This is Pogacar’s fourth consecutive victory in Lombardy and this time he won it after an attack 50 kilometers from the finish. Impressive, like almost everything the Slovenian does.
In one of the most beautiful and important events in cycling, Tadej Pogacar once again made it clear who rules world cycling. There was no doubt, but just in case. And he always does it with impressive victories. Pogacar sealed his victory in Il Lombardía with a victory in which took more than three minutes (3 minutes and 16 seconds, more precisely) at Remco Evenepoelwho was second. Third, thus completing the podium, came the locals Giulio Ciccone.
This Il Lombardía, commonly called Tour of Lombardyhad about 255 kilometers of route, starting in the town of Bergamo and ending with the beautiful Asat the gates of the lake which gives its name, all in the region of Lombardy, in the name of Italy.
There, in what is one of the five classic annual cycling events and in its 118th edition, Tadej Pogacar won for the fourth consecutive time. This is the 88th professional victory for the Slovenian cyclist and the 25th of this year 2024 spectacularin which he won the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France -both big with six stage victories in each of them-, in addition to the Road World Championship.
