The execution was announced by the Supreme Court of the Taliban Government.
The execution in the three provinces has increased separately the number of men who have been sentenced to death in public to 10 from 2021, according to the calculation Afpreported Saturday (12/4/2025).
Public execution is common during the first Taliban government between 1996 and 2001, with most of the public at the Sports Stadium.
“The men were sentenced to retaliation for shooting another man, after his case was very carefully and repeatedly examined,” the Supreme Court said in a statement.
According to the statement, the victim’s family rejected the opportunity to offer amnesty to men.
Afghan residents were invited to attend the execution event in an official notification that was widely distributed on Thursday.
Amnesty International asks the Taliban authority to leave the execution in public, which he calls “serious insults to human dignity.”
The previous execution took place in November 2024, when a convicted killer was shot three times in the chest by a member of the victim’s family in front of thousands of spectators, including tall Taliban officials, at a Gample Stadium, the capital of the Eastern Paktia province.
