Taliban expressed condolences to Iran over Tabas coal mine explosion

“Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” (IEA, the proper name given to the country by the Taliban)*) expressed its condolences to Iran and the families of the victims of the Tabas coal mine explosion on Saturday, September 21. Ariana News reports this.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesman for the IEA’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: “The Islamic Emirate expresses its sympathy to the government and people of Iran, and we wish that Allah has mercy on the souls of the victims.”

An explosion at a coal mine in Tabas, South Khorasan province, was caused by a methane leak. There were 69 workers in the mine at the time. According to the latest data, the death toll was between 35 and 38 people and many were injured.
