In Tbilisi, police used water cannon against protesters against the Georgian government’s decision to postpone accession negotiations with the European Union.
The action takes place near the Georgian parliament. Earlier, police had asked protesters to disperse. The situation escalated after protesters began throwing various objects at the police and insulting them.
Before this, several protesters were arrested.
The day before, the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze stated that Tbilisi will not start negotiations with Brussels on accession to the European Union until 2028 and rejects any EU budget subsidies for this period.
