Tel Aviv police detained 29 protesters

Twenty-nine people were arrested during the protests in Tel Aviv, Ynet reports, citing police. They said the reasons for the arrests were disorderly conduct, attacks on police officers, rioting and vandalism.

Protesters blocked the Ayalon Highway for several hours.

They threw stones, fences, nails and iron bars at the track, lit bonfires and set off fireworks. Police used stun grenades, injuring one member of the Knesset. Naama Lazimithe publication reports.

A police officer was also injured during the protests. At that time, the police dispersed the protesters.

Protesters in Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities took to the streets demanding the immediate release of all remaining hostages taken by Hamas. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it recovered the bodies of six hostages held in the Gaza Strip on Saturday. They were found in an underground tunnel near Rafah. The IDF believes Hamas killed the hostages. Among the dead is a Russian. Alexander Lobanov.
