The Government of Castile-La Mancha, through the Ministry of Finance, Public Administration and Digital Transformation, has activated the temporary shelter of the Immediate Emergency Intervention Team (ERIE) in the city of Albacete de Letur, in the Specific Plan for Risks of Unfavorable Meteorological Phenomena (Météocam)which is currently active.

As reported by sources from the Emergency Service 112 of Castilla-La Mancha consulted by Europa Press, four people were rescued in a house on Calle de la Cruz Blanca in the municipality, without information on their affiliation. yet been revealed, although it has been communicated that they are in good condition. The intense rains that fell throughout the afternoon of this Tuesday in Letur and the flooding generated by the precipitation affected many houses in this town of Albacete, which prevented neighbors from continuing to live there . Likewise, part of the municipality is deprived of basic electricity and water supplies.

In order to offer temporary shelter to those affected, the Red Cross of Castile-La Mancha will install throughout the afternoon at the CEIP ‘Our Lady of the Assumption’ from Letur, the necessary means so that around sixty people who cannot return home can have beds and communications.

Currently, rescue teams continue to work in this municipality of Albacete, searching various areas in search of missing people. In this sense, the Civil Guard helicopter is present in the city to carry out rescue operations, as well as the presence of firefighters from the Hellín and Los Molinicos parks, Civil Protection and Civil Guard teams.

Since the activation of Météocam, Monday at 11 p.m. and until 6 p.m. this Tuesday, the 112 emergency service has recorded a total of 69 incidents generated by intense rains and storms, distributed: 24 in Albacete; 22 in Ciudad Real; 11 in Cuenca; 3 in Guadalajara and 9 in Toledo.
