The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Provincial Prosecutor’s Office requests a ten-year prison sentence for a man for try to kill your partner in Tenerife, attacking him in the presence of his two minor daughters and violating a restraining order in force.
He grabbed her by the neck, threw her on the bed and I tried to suffocate him with the pillow while the woman kicked him to try to escape and screamed for help. It was the minor girls who asked the neighbors for help.
He was found guilty of one misdemeanor violation of sentence, three minor offenses of threatening and one misdemeanor of threatening gender violence.
The document specifies that the accused, with “contempt” at the judicial resolution, he resumed the romantic relationship with the victim although without cohabitation until the day, at the woman’s home and in the middle of an argument over his refusal to request the prohibition to approach unless 500 meters away, he attacked her in the presence of her two minor daughters. The man “he got angry”said the prosecution, and attacked her with the intention of ending her life saying “I do it or I don’t do it, I do it or I don’t do it, yes I will do it, I’m going to kill you“.
Hearing the noise, the victim’s daughters came out to meet their mother and watched as the man held her by the neck and although they tried to help her, they were attack by the accused, one of them having been injured when she knocked on the door.
Faced with this situation, the minors asked for help from other residents of the building until a woman came to the house, shouted at the man to let go of the victim and pushed him until he reached to destabilize it. At that point, the woman managed to escape with her daughters and took refuge in another house of the building.
The woman and her daughters had various injuries that took several days to heal.
The facts were reported by the victim herself and by court decision a provisional detention without bail was ordered.
The prosecution maintains that the facts constitute the crimes of violation of sentence, attempted homicide and injuriesand also requests the penalty of prohibiting approaching the victim within 500 meters or communicating with her for ten years, an additional six months without approaching minors, the payment of compensation of 10,000 euros for the woman and an additional 720 euros as a fine, plus an additional 60 euros for each day the victims recover.
