In the Fatih district of Istanbul, Turkey, a man named Semih Çelik cut off the head of a woman named Ikbal Uzuner with a knife and threw Edirnekap over the castle walls. Later, Çelik committed suicide by hanging a rope around his throat and throwing himself from the castle walls.

As a result of investigations, it was revealed that Semih Çelik killed a 19-year-old girl named Ayşenur Halil in Eyüpsultan district approximately one hour before the incident. The motive for the crimes is still unknown.
Many police forces were involved in the incident. A criminal case has been initiated and the investigation is ongoing.
