Armed groups opposing the Syrian government and President Bashar al-Assad have stormed the city of Aleppo, having already reached the center of one of Syria’s largest cities. The Turkish Anadolu agency reports, citing its sources, that after three days of fighting in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib, “opposition groups took control of 400 square kilometers of territory.”
According to the source, the terrorists who stormed the city are releasing the prisoners who fought against the Syrian army. They captured the Scientific Research Center, which is located in one of the remote areas of Aleppo. It is noted that armed opposition groups captured one of the largest settlements on the outskirts of Aleppo – Anadan and numerous villages and positions in the western part of Aleppo.
According to this information, units of the Syrian army, after local fighting, abandoned some areas of the city to avoid being surrounded.
A Turkish source points out that many supporters of the Assad regime are forced to flee from Aleppo to Damascus.
Thus, after four and a half years, the Syrian opposition again started hostilities against the Syrian Arab army in the province of Aleppo. As Anadolu reports, the Russian Armed Forces and the Syrian Armed Forces are currently being redeployed to the Tel Rifat area. Battle formations are deployed, aviation is scrambled.
