Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, has said that if he wins the election in the fall, he intends to consider a new deal with Iran that could help end hostilities.
This was reported by The Times Of Israel.
“That’s what I would do,” Trump said, without going into detail about what kind of deal he was talking about.
According to him, the need to conclude such an agreement is extremely important, since the possible consequences of the conflict can be catastrophic.
Trump recalled that in 2018 he withdrew from the agreement signed by the Barack Obama administration, according to which world powers eased sanctions against Tehran in exchange for reducing its nuclear weapons program. However, Iran has since resumed its uranium enrichment process, reaching levels that bring it closer to nuclear weapons.
