The traditional Vugar Hashimov Memorial will be organized by the Vugar Hashimov Chess Foundation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.

At a press conference held in connection with the competition, tournament director Anar Allahverdiyev announced the names of the participants in the jubilee memorial:
In the tournament in memory of the outstanding rapid and lightning chess player Vugar Hashimov, three chess players will represent Azerbaijan: Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov and Aydin Suleymanli, famous chess players such as Jan Nepomniashiy (FIDE, 2755), Richard Rapport (Hungary, 2766), the last winner of the competition, Vidit Santosh Gujrathi (India, 2720), will be announced.”
It should be noted that the main referee of the 10th Vugar Hashimov Memorial is Rauf Hajili, winner of the first championship of independent Azerbaijan.
