The 13 accused of creating a network of underage prostitution in Murcia will not go to prison after reaching an agreement with the prosecution

The six people who created a network for prostituting minors in Murcia and seven businessmen who paid to abuse these teenagers they won’t go to jail after reaching an agreement with the prosecution in which they acknowledge the facts and agree to pay fines and compensation.

This is what is stated in the agreement that the 13 defendants reached this Wednesday in the Provincial Court of Murcia with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, so that the trial, which has been delayed for a decade, It will not take place. Fines range from 540 and 4,320 euros and compensation for victims among 500 and 2,000 euros.

The judges of the chamber pronounced the sentence “in voce”, which It is already considered firm, against the three women who played the role of leaders of the plot by capturing young people between 15 and 17 years old to prostitute them with older men. In addition to a fourth woman who served as an intermediary to accompany the girls to the meetings, two men who transported them in clandestine taxis and seven older men with high purchasing power who paid for having abused the teenage girls.

The longest prison sentences under the deal are for the ringleaders of the plot, who They are 16, 12 and 6 years old. However, as is the case with the rest of the accused, none of them will go to prison, since these sentences correspond to several sentences that, individually, they do not exceed two years, which opens the possibility that the entry will not be executed.

One of the illegal taxi drivers involved in the plot is in the same situation, sentenced for six offences to two years each (12 years in total). The middleman was sentenced to 6 months in prison and the other taxi driver to 1 year and three months. For their part, the seven men who paid for abusing minors were sentenced to 5 months in prison for each of the crimes committed (5 in one case, 2 in two others and one in the rest).

The Provincial Court has established two new sessions, on October 7 and 8to assess alternative measures to the entry into prison of the convicts, since the agreement reached provides for their suspension since there is no sentence exceeding two years in prison.

The sanctions are significantly lower those that the prosecution had requested in 2015, when the case was opened, which were 7 years for each of the crimes committed by the pimps, 6 for each crime for the necessary collaborators and 4 for each crime for the clients.

The thirteen accused (two other accused died before today’s hearing) admitted the acts with which they were accused by the prosecution, which considered Ruth Karina DT, Nelly Paola .P. and Yesenia Mercedes B.C. as the main perpetrators of this plot, since they were responsible for capturing the miners.

According to the prosecutor’s account, they captured teenagers “at the gates of juvenile clubs and even schools, some from broken families and others in need.” Walter Jhovany D. M and Martín DT carried out the work of “taxi drivers”, transporting the girls to the scene, always accompanied by the fourth convict, Manuela PP, who acted as an intermediary.

As the prosecutor explained, both the members of the conspiracy and the men who abused the teenage girls by paying for it, seven in total, knew perfectly well that the girls were minors and, in fact, this was the main claim for them.
