A total of 24 joteras and joteros They will play this Sunday in the final of the XVII Ciudad de Tudela Jotas Competitionone of the most important competitions in Navarre in terms of jota tradition. The event will bring together participants of varying agesfrom children to adults, in the terms of soloist And duoand it will be colophon to the events organized for Navarre Day.
The competition will take place from 6:00 p.m. inside Gaztambide Theater of Tudela. The event will be broadcast live on the channel Youtube of the Government of Navarraallowing all interested parties to enjoy the final online.
Tickets, priced at 5 eurosare on sale in advance in the citizen attention services of the Tudela Town Hall and in the Lourdes districtas well as at the theater box office one hour before the event. They can also be purchased online on the pages of Culture Tudela And www.tudela.es.
This competition, organized jointly by the Government of Navarra and the Tudela Town Hall through Tudela-Cultureaims to promote traditional Navarrese music and, to do this, has a luxury jury trained by exceptional joteras Nuria Lafuente, Béatriz Mendiaand the equally famous Jotero José Antonio Pérez Caro.
The competition will not only reward the best in each category, but two special prizes will also be awarded: the “Foral Community of Navarre” Award for the best soloist in the adult category and the “Best Jota Style” Award. In addition to the trophieswill be offered cash prize for soloists and duos in the children, youth and adult categories. Prices vary between 20 and 400 euros depending on the category, the “Foral Community of Navarre” Prize being endowed with 600 euros and the “Best style of Jota” prize with 500 euros. It will also be awarded a Local price of 100 euros and a batch of local products from the best jotero or jotera of Tudela.
This event, which highlights the richness of Navarrese popular music, will see the participation of great talents and promises to be a jota party for all participants.
