The Ministry of Defense announced this Friday that 500 soldiers have already arrived in areas affected by DANA, adding to the 1,200 already working to help those affected by the storm in the province of Valencia.
Defense Minister Margarita Robles insisted in a message on the X social network account that there would be “all necessary means, for as long as necessary” to help the victims.
Among the troops who left their bases to help were aviators from the Sapper Parachute Squadron, who left Alcantarilla Air Base at dawn to support the Military Emergency Unit (UME). and all people affected by DANA.
In total, 500 additional military personnel will be added that day to the 1,200 already working to help in the area and to the nearly 400 vehicles and 15 helicopters operating in the Valencian Community.
Meanwhile, troops from the Military Emergency Unit (UME) continue to work on the ground.
