Artisanal Intelligence

He new paradigm Artisanal Intelligence becomes the theme of this biennial, highlighting the need and importance of respect tradition, craftsmanship, materials and attention to detail. This proposal invites you to explore and evolve all this inherited expertise through the use of new tools and knowledge offered by technology and artificial intelligence.

Raquel Arañón, founder and director of MDD, said the aim is to “create synergy between human creativity and the possibilities offered by AI, valuing creative expression and the role of what is handmade. As a designer and craftsman, I am convinced that Technological advances and artificial intelligence can bring huge benefits to artisanal work: from new creative opportunities and the development of manual and intellectual skills, to greater efficiency and optimization of time.

“It is under this vision that lies the challenge we are launching with each of our three National Awards for emerging designers in the disciplines of fashion, interior design and landscaping. Their innovative visions must offer us proposals that combine tradition and avant-garde to imagine a a future where craftsmanship and artificial intelligence go hand in handstrengthening all its strengths,” he noted.

Bringing this fusion between craft and AI to life, the organization presented Lolaa virtual assistant who will be the emblematic image of this edition and the common thread of the festival. Lolacreated using artificial intelligence, represents a woman of ancestral culture with her own identity. Her face is decorated with traditional designs and she wears handmade accessories and jewelry.all in a palette of blue and black, tones that evoke both the corporate image of AI and MDD. Lola becomes a symbol, created by the graphic designer and creator of the festival’s graphic image, Jerónimo Sanchez.
