A preliminary hearing was held on the criminal case against Rovshan Eyyubov, Tuncay Imanov, Famil Hajikhanov and Veli Valiyev, accused of committing the crime of kidnapping in the Garadagh district of Baku.
Oku.AzAccording to information from the Baku Serious Crimes Court, the data from the defendants’ questionnaire was clarified in the trial chaired by Leyla Mammadova-Asgarova.
Gantural Murselzadeh, lawyer for the accused Vali Valiyev, filed a motion to replace the preventive detention measure with house arrest. After consultation, the court rejected the request, emphasizing that there were no grounds to accept it. The decision was made to submit the criminal case to judicial investigation.
It should be noted that according to the information presented by investigators, Rovshan Eyyubov prepared a plan in advance with a group of people with the intention of kidnapping Balakarim Umudov, a resident of the capital. On December 24, 2023, at around 9:00 p.m., they showed up in front of polyclinic No. 19 in the Lokbatan settlement of Garadag district and, against the will of Balakarim Umudov, demanded that he sit in his car BMW brand. They then took the victim to a deserted desert in Gobu settlement, where they beat him and inflicted bodily injuries on him.
The defendants were charged with articles 144.2.3 and 144.2.4 of the Penal Code.
