The active phase of the joint exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asia Region (CRDF CAR) “Border 2024” has begun in Tajikistan. This is reported by the CSTO press service.

Military contingents from Russia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, operational groups of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the CSTO Secretariat take part in the maneuvers.
“The main tasks of the CRRF of the Central African Republic are preparation to repel external military aggression and counter terrorist challenges, and timely response to threats to national and regional security.” – stated the deputy head of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Most of the Russian contingent is made up of servicemen from the Central Military District of the 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan.
1.5 thousand people and 250 units of military and special equipment, including airplanes, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles, take part in the exercises.
