The Alicante Water Museum presents the programming of the last quarter and takes stock of its 15th anniversary

He Museum of Waters of Alicante This Monday, it presented its cultural agenda for the rest of the year, a proposal aimed at all audiences and which will complement what it has proposed throughout 2024, when the 15th anniversary of its inauguration will be commemorated.

“Since 2009, the Alicante Water Museum has been fulfilling its initial objective of environmental education citizens regarding water care. In addition to this, for several years now we have had our own cultural programming, which we have intensified this year, on the occasion of its 15th anniversary,” he said. Martin Sanz.

“This programming will be completed during this last quarter, as in previous years, with our participation as a complementary venue to other cultural proposals in the city, such as the International Festival of Classical theater from Alicante (FITCA), always combining the most traditional with other avant-gardes,” Sanz concluded.

Throughout the month of September, the agenda will consist of: photo exhibition “Our landings and parades” of the Alicante Federation Moors And Christians (from September 16 to 30), which can be visited in the multimedia room inaugurated this year and located within the Pozos de Garrigós; and the audiovisual screening “Game of the Year Awards”. The best video games of the last 15 years”, organized in collaboration with the Imajoven association (September 14).

In addition, as a sub-space of the Alicante International Classical Theatre Festival (FITCA), it will host the activities planned for this event within its Oral Narration section: “Hands on the Earth”, by Raquel López (September 26-27, 2017). 11:00 a.m., for the public of the Institutes-Baccalaureate); “Corvées”, by Elia Tralará (September 27, 8:00 p.m., for adult audiences); “Hunger for Stories”, by Elia Tralará (September 28, 6:00 p.m., for a family audience); “Tejedoras”, by Alberto Celdra (September 28, 8:00 p.m., for adult audiences); and “An Odyssey for the Whole Family”, by Alberto Celdra (September 29, 12:00 p.m., for a family audience).

For his part, the singer and songwriter will give a concert in October. Laurine Mauricean acoustic performance with guitar and a repertoire of American-English, Spanish and French folk songs, which includes his own songs (October 19) and, in November, those of Turina Quartet, chamber music group specializing in Spanish repertoire, with the aim of spreading the heritage of Spanish music (November 2); Both concerts will take place inside the Pozos de Garrigós.

Finally, and to close a year of commemoration, the month of December will offer visitors the I Photo Marathon Social Aguas de Alicante, organized in collaboration with the photographer from Alicante Pilar Cortes (December 2 to January 6, 2025), as well as the concert in charge of “Agustic Band», an acoustic group on classic Jazz and Blues themes, on December 14 in the Plaza del Puente, as part of the “Music in the Square” format promoted by the Museum in 2024.

Balance

Since January, when the 15th anniversary activities began, with the presentation of a new corporate identity for the Museum, the space has hosted a variety of cultural and other activities, in its facilities and in the Well of Garrigosan activity that intensified compared to previous years on the occasion of the commemoration.

Thus, between January and August 2024, the Alicante Water Museum has already received more than 24,000 visitors (with a weight close to 50% of international visits) on the free visits to its factories and on the guided tours; also, in the multiple activities organized in its cultural aspect (proposals and workshops of cinema, street music or performative poetry) and in other activities promoted by the Museum in collaboration with interest groups. Thus, throughout these months of 2024, the space has hosted a total of 58 activitiestwenty of which are part of its Cultural Agenda.

Considering the origin of the activity, 34.5% of the Museum’s activity corresponds to its cultural facet; 24.1% to events organized by Aguas de Alicante and hosted in this headquarters; 24.1% to events organized by third parties, for which Aguas de Alicante grants use of the Museum; 13.8% to guided tours; and 3.4% to the organization of water tastings for different groups.

This year 2024, an important milestone was the incorporation of the Alicante Water Museum into the Association of Museums And Unique spaces Companies of Spain (MESCO).

It is the first museum in the Valencian Community to be part of this community that offers support to companies that have museums and corporate spaces, places specially designed to show the past, present or future vocation of the companies to which they belong.

With this incorporation, the Alicante Water Museum expands its philosophy of public-private collaboration, giving it a national dimension. Spaces such as Seat Historicos (Seat) or the Grifols Museum (Grifols) are part of MESCO.
