The National Police arrested the alleged murderer of his father-in-law in Carabias (Segovia), in Aranda de Duero, in a case of gender violence, as reported by the Government Sub-delegation in Burgos. The arrested person put up “strong resistance” to National Police officers and hit a police vehicle. The inmate’s partner has been released from the Viogen system. “The companion of the alleged perpetrator, his mother and his minor daughter, were “under protection at all times”, indicated the Government Sub-delegation.
This Friday morning, the National Police identified the body of a man around 70 years old showing signs of violence in Aranda de Duero (Burgos). The deceased’s daughter, who was reportedly in separation proceedings, contacted officers moments before the murder.
The deputy government delegate in Burgos, Pedro de la Fuente, explained to the media that the girl had contacted the National Police moments before the crime and it was decided to include her in the Viogen system aimed at monitoring and protecting women victims of domestic violence and their children because it is an “extreme” case, EFE report.
The main hypothesis put forward by the agents is that the man of around 70 years old went to the home where his son-in-law lived – at number 12 of Benjamín Palencia street, in the neighborhood of La Estación de Aranda de Duero (Burgos) – and that’s where his son-in-law killed him with a knife, as investigative sources informed EFE.
These same sources explained that the agents were alerted by the girl herself and went to the scene with a photo of the deceased to ask the neighbors if they had seen him.
The events occurred around eight p.m. this Thursday. At 8:39 p.m., the National Police called the 1-1-2 emergency service to request medical assistance for a man around 70 years old in a house on this street in the river capital.
A medical team and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene and were only able to note the man’s death.
The government subdelegate explained that the National Police and the Civil Guard are looking for the son-in-law in the surroundings of Aranda de Duero and hope that he can be arrested soon, although he does not exclude that he has already left the province of Burgos and who, as he said, has a company car.
