The ambulance was hit by a ticket, because Etle wasn’t sophisticated?

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – A driver ambulance In Tangerang, Febryan (30), was surprised to know that the car he was driving was hit by an electronic ticket or enforcement of electronic traffic law (Etle). The vehicle police number he used to use was suddenly blocked when checked by official application to check the motor vehicles.

“There is a notice from the Ranmor Check application. When I open, the number is blocked,” Febryan told reporters on Thursday (10/4/2025).

This event occurred about a week ago. At that time, Februa was heading to an emergency patient from Hermina Daan Mogot Hospital to PELNI Regional Hospital. He was driving an ambulance belonging to PT Febryan Wirasejahtera Indonesia.

However, in emergency travel, the ambulance was noticed violating certain traffic policies: by red light, crossing the Transjakarta Lane, and the driver did not wear a seat belt. The incident was recorded by Etle’s camera in the Cengkareng area.

“Those who hit ETLE were on the path of Transjakarta Cengkareng, right in the red light. Even though I brought patients in need of quick handling,” he explained.

Febryan insisted that the ambulance he was driving actually used a civilian plate, not a special plate (ration), but equipped with a personal operational permit.

“Yes, this is a civilian plate. But the permit is completely complete,” he said.

Many ambulances get the ticket

Not only did he, according to Febryan, many other ambulances also experience similar events. In fact, vehicles belonging to puskes and red plates are also exposed to electronic tickets.

“The Tambora Puskesmas also got a ticket, even though the plate was red. I’m also confused,” he said.

Februa is now appealing and hoping there is a solution from the authorities. He considers the emergency situation a special treatment.

“If we bring a patient to emergency, do you want to stop first because of a red light? Isn’t it funny,” he complained.

Responding to this, Metro Jaya traffic director Kombes Pol Komarkin emphasized that the ambulance that carries patients is included in the priority vehicle category and can confirm officials when exposed to E about ETLE.

“Patients, including vehicles that received priorities, brought an ambulance. Only confirmed to officials,” Komarudin said.

Due to ETle is less sophisticated?

Transportation observer Tigor Nainglan was surprised that this might happen because the ambulance should include as a priority vehicle as described in law number 22 years 2009 about traffic and transportation on the road.

“The ambulance included in the priority transportation category was repaired in traffic law, it should not be hit by a police ticket. Police know that the ambulance is a priority,” he said in a Friday (11/4/2025).

According to Tigor, this happened not because of the driver’s mistake, but the Etle camera system itself.

“The technology is still not more advanced, less sophistication should be seen that the vehicle is a priority vehicle, emergency or ordinary private vehicle. ETLE technology should be used by the police to get there. Because in Singapore it can really see Etle tools,” he said.

In addition, Tigor did not agree with the police. In his statement, police said the driver who had been hit by Etle’s camera was coming and confirmed.

“The vehicle has been known to the police since the beginning of the type, what the operation is. It has already been when taking care of a STNK, in the stnk it looks like what kind of vehicle is and what the operation is. It is there. So there is no need to confirm it anymore,” he said.

“Yes, please issue or issue a police vehicle registration,” he said.

He suggested that ETLE technology in Indonesia was immediately updated. Not only for tickets, but also included for other things as in some countries.

“Technology has been made more sophisticated, as it is. Technology does not produce ETLE, if in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur is not just for ETLE can also be for other systems,” he said.

Similarly, another transport observer Djoko Settijowarno said the ambulance brought the patient one of the vehicles that was given privacy on public roads.

He then brought Article 134 of the law number 22 years 2009 about road traffic and transportation. Where one of the road users who gets the basic right is the ambulance that carries the sick. Therefore, the ambulance incident that hit ETLE is considered because of the negligence of the ETLE Officer

“There may be an alignment from the officials in charge of ETLE,” he said.

However, he said the driver didn’t have to worry. Because, he can be immediately confirmed by showing evidence to open the block.

“The driver can only be confirmed to officials. The ambulance carries patients including priority vehicles,” he said.
