The Andalusian golfer Angel Ayorawith a round of 62 shots (-10), is the first leader of the Grand Final of the Rolex Challenge Tour, supported by the R&A, after the dispute this Thursday of first day of the competition at the Alcanada Golf Club, in Alcúdia, in perfect conditions for playing golf, as there was neither rain nor wind.
With the presentation of a magnificent card, which constitutes a record for the peloton, Ayora is suddenly ahead of the second, the Danish Rasmus Neergaaard Petersen (with a card of 63), and in three at Norwegian Kristoffer Reitanwho scored a round of 65 shots. The other Spaniard participating in the competition, Joel Moscatelcurrently shares eighth position, presenting a card of 67 moves (-5).
The day started in the morning with an emotion minute of silence in memory of the victims following the DANA at Levante in Spain, followed by the players and staff of the Challenge Tour, the members of the Federation – with the president, Dino Jaumein the lead – the volunteers and the public present.
This year is the sixth consecutive edition of the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final. The 45 best European golf prospects compete in the tournament, of which only the best 20 will obtain the card to play the DP World Tour next season. Alcanada is the end point of a competition which, throughout the year, took place in South Africa, India, the United Arab Emirates, Europe and China.
