The Andalusian PSOE faces the federal congress with unique lists of delegates in all provinces

The Andalusian PSOE finally faces the Federal Congress in Seville with unique lists of delegates in all provinces led by its provincial secretaries or, in the case of Seville, by the general secretary of the PSOE-A, Juan Espadas. In this way, the federation that brings the most delegates to the November event in Seville scene cohesion around the candidacy of Pedro Sánchez continue as general secretary of the party, the only one in existence. In addition, Juan Espadas will be the president of this congress as host federation.

The PSOE calendar has set Monday, September 30 as the maximum date for the presentation of precandidates for the lists of delegates to the Federal Congress. The provincial directorates and the regional directorate attempted to complete this process with unique lists in all provinces in order to avoid any process of voting or internal division in the assemblies that the representatives of the Andalusian socialists must ratify at the regional meeting.

Juan Espadas will head the list of PSOE delegates from Seville while the provincial secretaries of the rest of the provinces will lead their candidacies. No alternative candidacy has been formalized in the eight provinces who had the required guarantees. In this way, the unity in the delegations that Juan Espadas sought from the regional leadership is achieved.

Andalusia will remain the territorial delegation with the greatest weight in the federal event, with 25% of activism at the state level. Specifically, Andalusia, according to data provided by the federal leadership of the PSOE, will have 268 delegates assigned to the next Congress of which 57 correspond to the province of Seville (the most numerous). Next, according to the number of activists, are Granada (39), Jaén and Málaga (37), Cádiz (32), Almería (24), Córdoba (22) and Huelva (20).

Once this Federal Congress is over, the PSOE must convene before the month of February following the regional meeting to renew the organic structure in which for the moment only the candidacy of Juan Espadas is confirmed. This Monday precisely, the provincial leadership of Seville, led by Javier Fernández, the largest in federal and regional eventshas once again shown its support for Juan Espadas as a socialist candidate in the next regional elections scheduled for 2026.
