On November 17 they were announced by one of the Telegram channels, but until the afternoon of November 18 they were not officially confirmed by the national federation.
Meanwhile, the list does not include the names of the strongest fighters who, since August of this year, have been performing compulsory military service in the sports company of the Armenian army.
In particular, there are no names of winners and prizewinners of the world and European championships. Malkhas Amoyan (Greco-Roman wrestling), Arsen Harutyunyan, Vazgen Tevanyan, Arman Andreasyan, Manvel Khndzrtsyan (wrestling).

However, a few days ago we were informed that we would not be able to participate in the championship with the strongest team. It’s a shame that our main fighters, who had a great chance of becoming champions, were simply eliminated from the team. We were not provided with any clear explanation for this decision…
Dear journalists, we cannot answer your questions because we ourselves do not know the reasons. To get a clear answer, contact the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense and ask him all questions. “We have no clear information on this matter.”
On November 19, a press conference was finally held with the participation of the head of the physical training and sports service of the country’s Ministry of Defense. Arman Davtyan.
At the briefing, journalists immediately asked the representative of the defense department an “uncomfortable” question about the composition of the Armenian team, to which they were not given an intelligible answer.
The words that the national team is being formed on the basis of certain CISM requirements did not sound convincing, since there were no examples of non-admission of our strongest fighters.
Media representatives claimed that they had not received adequate explanations, so Davtyan advised them to contact the Ministry of Defense in writing.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan He told reporters in parliament, commenting on the exclusion of several wrestlers from the national team:
“The championship has clear regulations, procedures and rules. Our teams are trained in strict compliance with these standards. That is why the fighters you indicated are not included in the national team.“
